It All Adds up at I-S Manufacturing

Doing the maths to get 6m long, 2.7m wide OSB panels through quite narrow access doors was a potential headache for I-S Manufacturing when it set up its new site in Coventry, but Combilift helped the company to get the equation right: with just a few centimetres of clearance on each side, a C8000 can now easily manoeuvre the panels into and around the manufacturing facility. The truck’s versatility also enables it to manage the internal movement of all other materials such as expanded polystyrene blocks, packs of timber and adhesives.
Specialist forklift the answer
I-S Manufacturing is a subsidiary of Innovaré Systems, and supplies bespoke i-SIP Structural Insulated Panels (SIP) for sustainable building systems. “We knew we needed something way beyond a mainstream forklift,” explains MD Andrew Orriss,

Warehouse layout service
I-S also made use of Combilift’s expertise in facilities design: using initial information on the size of the factory footprint, engineers in Monaghan produced a layout for the configuration of racking, machinery and aisle widths. I-S therefore now benefits from the optimum use of space throughout the premises.
Impressive, versatile, dependable
As the Combilift is the only forklift on site, reliable operation is essential, but Andrew Orriss has no worries on this count: “The Combilift is an impressive piece of kit. It is versatile and dependable, the drivers are very happy operating it, and, crucially, it has solved our OSB maneuverability problem!”
